Well, It's been awhile... I am still enjoying not being in school, but that's going to change. I am going back full time in January. Hopefully this break will serve as a good refreshment, and my mind will be again ready to soak up some knowledge. This break did work out well as I was able to help around my house with my mom, who had knee surgery back at the end of August. --------------------------------------------- I have one song left to do for my demo cd. I am hoping it will be done before Christmas, but I am not sure how long the mixing and mastering stages of a cd take. I am VERY excited for it to be done. My friend Kathryn and I went a few weeks ago to take pictures for it. I love the pictures we chose and the way they were edited, and it looks really cool. For those of you who read my xanga, you get a 'special treat'(it actually isn't that big of a deal, and you probably don't care that much)...here's the tracklist for the cd: 1. "You Are So Good To Me" (Third Day) 2."Up To The Mountain" (patty Griffin) 3. "Drifter" (Decemberadio) 4. "Sweetly Broken" (Jeremy Riddle---For those who have heard me sing this at church, it's a slightly different, less ballad-y arrangement) 5. "Journey To The Cross" ( Not sure who wrote/performed this...I got it off a worship demo site-I sang it around easter this year.) 6. "In Better Hands" (Natalie Grant--The one I am waiting to do) ----------------------------------------------------------- I have been thinking a lot lately about a "Jesus kind of love." The church I am currently attending is starting a church in Haiti. They took up an offering, hoping to get $25,000, and had someone who would match it outside of the church. They ended up raising about $65,000...WITHOUT the matching. It was amazing! With the matching it was about $90,000 that will now go not only to building a church for 800 in Haiti, but also to seperate orphanages to house 150 children.. I think a lot of us Christians, myself included, have been content to just to go to church Sunday, and Wednesday, whenever and call it even with God. I think to really act out our faith, and I have been convicted of this over the past few months) It requires servanthood, and sacrifice. Jesus himself exemplified the kind of love we should live out during his time here on earth. I have been wondering what that looks like in my life... I am still not entirely sure. I don't want to just be part of the status quo, go about your buisness kind of Christian, I want to be a FOLLOWER of Jesus TRULY stood for. I was at barnes and noble the other night, and it's like God led me straight to a book he wanted me to read. It is called "Crazy Love" by Francis chan and it is AMAZING, even after the first 2 chapters! I reccomend getting it, like, TODAY! Read it with a computer, as there are internet videos that go with it. It will really wake you up to the nature of our great GOd! The link is at the top of the page have to go for now, but hope to write more soon! |
